Happiness Grant Activities!!
Pasadena Community Coalition (PCC) exists to serve as a community-wide effort aiming to prevent and reduce the harmful impact of alcohol and prescription abuse among youth within our communities.
We implement these efforts by utilizing community-based, environmental prevention strategies.
These strategies are research and scientifically based and are proven to work on a national and local level. PCC relies on effective community partnerships and collaborations to effect change in community norms and perceptions, access and availability, and policies and regulations. Some of these strategies include: outreach and education, reducing underage drinking by conducting compliance checks and responsible beverage service campaigns to retailers, and positive messaging campaigns, only to name a few.
Pasadena serves the following community sectors: business community, civic and volunteer groups, concerned citizen, faith community, government agencies, health care professionals, law enforcement, media, parents, recovery community, schools and educators, young adults (aged 18–24), youth (younger than 18), and youth-serving community organizations.

Partnership For Success (PFS)
The purpose of this grant program is to prevent the onset and reduce the progression of substance abuse and its related problems while strengthening prevention capacity and infrastructure at the community level. The program is intended to address one of the nation’s top substance abuse prevention priorities - underage drinking among persons aged 9 to 20. At their discretion, recipients will identify the primary problematic substances in their jurisdictions and develop and implement strategies to prevent the misuse of these substances among youth and adults.
PFS Goals and Objectives:
Coordinate youth drug prevention activities focusing on alcohol prevention and prescription drug misuse prevention in the city of Pasadena through the Pasadena Community Coalition.
Develop and coordinate a Youth Advisory Council to contribute to the coalition. Educate prescribers, pharmacists, and the community on proper disposal to reduce easy access to addictive prescription medications.
Widely disseminate prevention messages to the community via media, social media and events.
Provide youth leadership development in the target community and surround areas.
This program targets under-served populations with behavioral health disparities.
