Prevention - Education - Intervention - Recovery
Our mission is to mobilize community resources to prevent underage drinking, tobacco and drug use.
Brazoria County Community Coalition (BCCC) exists to serve as a community-wide effort aiming to prevent and reduce the harmful impact of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse in youth within our communities.
We implement these efforts by utilizing community-based, environmental prevention strategies. These strategies are research and scientifically based and are proven to work on a national and local level. BCCC relies on effective community partnerships and collaborations to effect change in community norms and perceptions, access and availability, and policies and regulations. Some of these strategies include: outreach and education, reducing underage drinking by conducting compliance checks and responsible beverage service campaigns to retailers, and positive messaging campaigns, only to name a few.
BCCC serves the following communities: Alvin, Angleton, Brazoria, Clute, Freeport, Lake Jackson, Liverpool, Manvel, Oyster Creek, Pearland, Richwood, Surfside, Sweeny, and West Columbia.
BCCC serves the following community sectors: business community, civic and volunteer groups, concerned citizen, faith community, government agencies, health care professionals, law enforcement, media, parents, recovery community, schools and educators, young adults (aged 18–24), youth (younger than 18), and youth-serving community organizations.
